About Ali

  • Position: Full Stack Developer

A small introduction about you

Hi! I’m Ali, a full-stack developer from a small town near Madrid, and I have Moroccan roots, so I naturally thrive in multicultural teams. I fell in love with tech at 6 when my parents gifted me an Acer laptop and I became the family “tech guy.”
I began in Computer Science, then switched to an intensive software program to go hands-on and specialise in software development. Since then I’ve gravitated to early-stage startups for the ownership and pace.
Those experiences taught me a lot and brought me here and I’m excited to keep learning and contribute at MVST.
Outside of tech, you’ll find me listening to podcasts, running or hiking. Basically anything that has to do with nature and sports, I love it!

What are you looking forward to the most at MVST?

I’m really looking forward to working with such a talented, creative and diverse team and learning from the variety of projects MVST tackles.
I’m also very excited about joining a place where ownership, high standards for code quality, and clear communication are core, and MVST has a great environment and culture that fosters those values.

What's something that you're passionate about?

I’m passionate about building great quality products that solve real problems and seeing people benefit from it. That’s what first made me get into development. Lately I’ve been diving into AI-powered automations because they remove tedious work and give people time back.
Outside tech, I’m passionate about learning, specifically through podcasts, whether it is religion, health, and more recently, personal development.

What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from a failure or setback in your life?

One valuable lesson I learned was during university. I realized that even though I was top of my class, after a year and a half I wasn’t feeling challenged enough and I was a bit lost, so I knew I needed to take a different path. Leaving to join an intensive bootcamp felt like a setback at first, but it taught me that sometimes you need to take risks and change direction to grow faster. That decision pushed me into real-world projects and made me the developer I am today.
And any “setback” in life taught me later on that everything happens for a reason that we may not see it at that time. Patience is key 🔑!
