A small introduction about you ✨

I’m Matheus, a software developer from Brazil who first got in touch with programming around the age of 14 through a robotics team, working with Lego-based robots, and I’ve been passionate about it ever since. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my girlfriend, family and friends, playing card and board games and watching Formula 1.

What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done, and what did you learn from it?

The most adventurous thing I’ve done was moving out of my parents’ home to live with my girlfriend in a new city where I only knew a few people. It pushed me to grow quickly, teaching me independence and adaptability through everyday challenges like keeping an apartment running, managing household logistics, and making sure a very furry cat stayed happy and healthy.

What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from a failure or setback in your life?

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned from setbacks is that progress rarely comes from getting things right the first time. In software development, taking the time to ask the right questions and build a clear understanding before starting is essential, and combining that with fast, thoughtful iteration helps reach the right solution more efficiently.

Do you have any helpful advice for people that want to pursue the same career as you?

My main advice is to focus on building a solid understanding of the fundamentals, especially early on. The shiny new tools and technologies will always be there later. Stay curious about how things work, and try to deeply understand the product you’re building and the people who will use it, maintaining clear and open communication with them whenever possible.
