A small introduction about you ✨

Hi! I’m Pol Simon, and I recently joined MVST as a Machine Learning Engineer. I have a background in Telecommunications Engineering, and over the past few years, I’ve been passionate about artificial intelligence and everything around it. I joined a document processing automation company a few years ago where I spent almost three years, and then I went to Munich to do some research for my Master's thesis in the German Aerospace Center. Outside of work, I’m really into sports and playing the piano. I’m super excited to be part of a team that values both creativity and impact.

What inspired you to pursue a career in the software industry?

I’ve always been fascinated by how technology can shape the way we live, work, and interact. What got me into the software industry specifically is the mix of problem-solving, innovation, and the ability to build something that truly adds value. I love how no two projects are the same, and that there’s always something new to learn or improve.

What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement so far?

One of my proudest achievements so far has been the design and implementation of an obfuscation system at my previous company. As the company was exploring new service offerings, I was entrusted with developing a system capable of detecting and anonymizing sensitive information within documents. This involved researching state-of-the-art technologies and applying them effectively to meet real-world needs. After several months of focused work, I delivered a solution that produced strong results. But what made the experience especially meaningful wasn’t just the technical success, but also the growth, persistence, and learning that came with it. After I left the company, they reached out to let me know that they had secured their first clients for this new service line, which was built on the system I created. That was a great moment!

What do you hope to gain from your experience working with us, and how do you plan to make the most of this opportunity?

What attracted me to MVST was the company’s strong commitment to quality and its collaborative culture. As a Machine Learning Engineer, I’m excited to deepen my technical expertise, especially in building scalable, impactful ML solutions that are closely aligned with product and user needs. To make the most of this opportunity, I plan to stay proactive, continuously ask questions, seek out cross-functional collaboration, and look for opportunities to contribute and add meaningful value for both the team and our users.
