βEnable people to grow the freshest greens - right in their own homeβ
Agrilution is a startup from Munich in the field of vertical farming. The brand has a bright vision: Enable people to grow their own greens full of nutrients at home. Back in the day, founder Max Loessl started exploring the topics of environmental protection and nutrition at a young age and discovered vertical farming along the way. In 2013, he and his co-founder Philipp built the first prototype of the Plantcube, which was designed to enable vertical farming at home. In 2019, the technical masterpiece was launched on the market.
The Agrilution Plantcube
For each type of plant, special parameters are stored, and accordingly, the Plantcube knows when and how much watering is needed, what light conditions the plants require, and what temperature should prevail at what time. In other words, the Plantcube is a closed system that takes full care of the growth of lettuces, herbs, micorgreens and even chilis and tomatoes.
β"The Plantcube enables you to grow your own fresh and tasty salads, herbs and microgreens at the point of consumption, in your own home - more conveniently and efficiently than ever before. As a central interface to control, inform and shop, we want to offer an app that is perfectly user-friendly. In our project with MVST, we found an optimal solution for Agrilution and the users of our Plantcubes." β
Moritz Green, Product Manager at Agrilution
The Challenge
To monitor the status of the cube, the different plants, and the harvesting, a mobile app was needed. As the current app did not meet the expectations of the brand, they commissioned MVST to build the new associated mobile app from concept to launch. To ensure brand consistency, we also took care of the new website, included the new design and created some marketing assets.
The Goals

The Phases
Concept phase
Optimize the User Experience and revamp the design
First, we went into the concept and planning phase of the app. This is where we developed the idea and defined the purpose of the product. Therefore we took a closer look at the identity, mission and goals of Agrilution and investigated the brandβs positioning and pain points. Especially within this step of our project, we worked very closely with several teams at Agilution in order to fully understand the requirements and wishes.
