The Client
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, headquartered in Germany, is the world's leading applied research organisation. In this project, we were commissioned by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM with the product design of an innovative solution: Carme.
The Challenge
With Carme, researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM combine existing open source solutions from the HPC field and the machine learning and data analytics community. In this way, they are creating a framework that enables easy interactive access to the computing power of HPC centres and gets the most out of AI toolchains. To make this tool accessible and usable for everyone, we took over the design of the app.
Our Solution
In order to provide Carme users with the best possible experience, we decided on a modern but simple design system that reflects the character of the web app. To ensure intuitive navigation, we adapted the flows to the target group through user tests.
The Results
Carme proves that highly complex software does not always have to be difficult to use. With the help of a modern interface and user-centred navigation, the app is easy to understand and perfectly designed for daily use.
